Checking in!

Dear Patrons

I hope this finds you and your loved ones well.

Here's a quick check-in to let you know what we've been up to in May!

1. Hard-core familying: I promised Luca and Juno I would take a break after the election so we could hang out; and as you can see, we've made a good start on that—reading books (and learning to read), demolishing ice-creams, fixing fences, making music, going on outings....

2. I've also made a start on the task of upgrading our studio, something I've had to put off for the past couple of years. This will probably take me the best part of June to finish, but it's something I can't put off any longer (some of my gear is practically obsolete)

3. I've been taking this break as an opportunity to think and talk with people about what new directions and approaches to take in Season 4. Coz I know once we get back into production mode, it can be hard to find the time and space for this. (Thank you to everyone who shared suggestions in the comments of my last post).

4. And in between all this, I've been sorting through our footage and (slowly) putting together the behind-the-scenes and blooper reel for our Season 3 wrap-up video.

I was planning to have published said video by the end of May, but then...

On May 28, our government approved the extension of the massive North West Shelf gas project out to 2070, a big fuck-you to just about everyone—Australian tax-payers, Indigenous people, our Pacific neighbours, and future generations. Which inspired me to go back and add a section in the video about this and why I really want to focus more on covering climate and environment policies going forward.

So in case you were wondering, that's why I didn't publish the wrap-up video in May. (And if you weren't wondering, well... now you know anyway :)

I'm finally editing the video now, and am excited to share it with all of you—hopefully in the coming days. *(Unless our government approves another new massive gas field in the next few days).
