Frieren was definitely referring to the ‘spell’ the replica used. She says good job to Fern because she made the replica resort to that. It’s literally called the “Height of Magic” and we don’t know much about it. Mages can use spells without a staff, although the complexities are not explained. Remember Frieren used her hands to butcher that demon from Aura’s army, the one that tried to kill her while she was imprisoned. Übel is an outlier, her ability to visualize things is not something others can do. As Sense said, she ignores basic facts that intelligent beings clearly know, but it’s not like she is forcing herself to do that, she is just naturally gifted and perceives things differently.
