3:46 The grimoire in the dragon's nest from last episode is just a regular magic grimoire containing a spell or spell instructions (in that case it was a spell to see through someone's clothes). As it's been stated, Frieren's hobby is collecting and studying grimoires to learn new spells (I'm guessing they don't come from one particular author, they're just random magic books).
