Weekly Update - Here Comes The Flood + Patreon Apple App

"Oh you poor, poor little man. Looks like you fell and now you can't get up. Is it my good looks that got you pinned down? Or maybe it's your knee cap I just busted?"

---

You know how I always talk about the weather in these updates? This is mostly due to the fact that I live in a country that has all four distinct seasons and that it's a very fertile conversation subject. And you remember when I told you about the coming diluvial rains caused by tropical storms? Well, I got spared the most of it, but my poor ageing parents did not get spared, and had their basement flooded. So I spent some part of the week going over to help them get things sorted.

Which is to say I did not have as much time as I hoped to work on the games. I did start writing for The Bodyguard 2, trying to give the scenes I've had in mind more substance. See, the thing is, without spoiling the surprise, I wanted to write a 'follow-up' scene; that is, what happens when you win one of the minigames and get ahem rewarded by Vivian for surviving.

Usually, that scene would arrive hot on the heels of the minigame, which would make for a very short update, not a lot to read, just an H Scene. I suppose most of you would be okay with this? But still, I am concerned about adding some meat to the game, but making it so it doesn't feel like fake padding, you know?

Guess this is one of the challenges of being a writer.

You might have seen it discussed online from other Patreon creators, but Apple has decided to charge a 30% fee for subscriptions made on Patreon from the mobile Patreon app.

This is scummy, and awful, and Patreon themselves, in an email sent to creators, suggest that you subscribe using only the desktop website, so you can skip that fee entirely. Understand, this is NOT Patreon's doing, this is all an Apple initiative, and it only concerns future subscriptions (from November of this year on).

So please keep that in mind when subscribing to support me. I know some of you phase in and out of subscription often, perhaps for budget reasons, or perhaps you only want one of my two games so you regularly skip a month, and I am okay with that. Just don't do it through the Apple app, alright? I'm just looking out for y'all.

---

And that's it. I still haven't heard from any of the artists I commissioned this month so far, but that is still within expected schedule. Things will pick up real fast real soon anyway, so I enjoy the slower-paced work while I can.

As you should, too. Please take it easy. Make sure you treat yourself to something nice from time to time. We'll see each other next week. Until then, stay safe out there!

Wild to me that apple can just add charges on top of charges. I can't see them thinking that will cause more people to use the app on their iphones.
