New on eBay: Joe Gargagliano Index Card Drawing

New Eltingville Club card drawing on eBay: Joe Gargagliano, owner of Joe's Fantasy World. An ambassador of comics in the classic mode, he's single-handedly caused more people to stop buying and reading comics than Wertham. Celebrate the dire days of the direct market!

I don't think he'll go for much but I'm being a completist on these Eltingville cast drawings.

I'm winding down this latest batch of card drawings because August is going to be a concerted push to finish all my outstanding commission commitments. It's either that or walk in front of a train after leaving a note to tell Sarah to double the customer refunds. If I need money while working on them I'll look through the files to sell exisiting art. We'll see how it goes. Things have been very busy but most of what's taking up my time are meetings and pitching. Which doesn't earn anything, but is a gamble for something down the line. I have to catch up so I can move forward. And I've owed several people commissions for about five years, which is abominable. Most of them have work done on them, one is on it's third attempt, but they should've been done ages ago and they gnaw at me, despite the incredible patience the customers have shown me.

Anyway, that's the plan for the ending days of summer, the worst season and a time I rarely go out. Except for Saturday, to see The Descendants. And maybe Thursday, to see friends, because I skipped our last get-together.

Okay. Shower, food, work. And soem time with Winky the Pirate Girl.

More, soon, later.

There are many solid comic shop owners and staff members out there. Comic shops today, by and large, are leagues above what was around in the 80s-00s. The problem is that if your local shop sucks, it can suck the life out of you because dealing with them makes you miserable. That's why a lot of people turn to online shops. But a good comic shop is a blessed thing.

comic book vendors are all inherently scummy i feel.... the guy at my favorite comic book store is scamming me a bit but there's nothing we can do they take away a bit of the love we have for the medium away
