Color Milk & Cheese Convention Sketch (1992)

Another old convention sketch, once again courtesy of Matt Powers. Gin!

I'm surprised the Sharpie lines haven't broken down as much as I've seen in some other old convention drawings. I wish I never used Sharpies back then, they often faded, and when they fade they turn green or blue. Yikes.

I don't think I could actually drink gin these days. Liquor burns my interior like a week of Italian food. Which I just went through -- almost two weeks, actually -- after my parents were in town and bought all the kids a ton of food to take home. I was eating nothing but meatballs, chicken cutlets, pasta and Italian bread. I think I gained five pounds. And lost a few ounces of stomach lining from the red sauce. I have to learn to adjust to old man settings regarding my eating and drinking. I still eat too often like I'm still in my 20s. So, no gin for me. I used to like a nice gin and tonic, back in the day. Not a favorite, unlike Milk & Cheese. Boy, do they love that stuff. Yeesh.

If anyone has any old convention art that I did, feel free to send me a scan to post here. I'm at evandorkin@gmail.com for that. And anything else, I guess. Yup.

Comments

I am trying and failing at doing my workout/stretches after all that eating. I have the freelancer fear of letting any food go to waste, free or otherwise. But I rarely have perishable food to deal with, because I don't cook and everything I normally eat is frozen, boxed or canned. I made egg salad recently, eggs are about all I can handle to any degree. Now I'm hungry...

I have Portuguese in-laws so sympathize with you completely on the food. I had to invent new workout routines so my doctor wouldn't shame me about my "waste not want not" attitude.

what does this even mean

I'm on Omeprazole to be able to deal with GERD. Otherwise, coffee, booze, tomato sauce, anything acidic, etc would destroy me like the Hulk rampaging through a Hostess factory.
