Look what I got -- the cover of BILL AND TED ARE DOOMED #1 by the great Roger Langridge! This was the variant for the Dark Horse series I wrote and Roger illustrated. I can now add it to my prized FRED THE CLOWN original page I bought from Roger at MOCCA some time ago. Roger asked me if I'd want the cover, and I was nodding "yes yes yes" vigorously while replying. Yes yes yes.
I have been a huge fan of Roger's cartooning and comics since the days of ART D'ECCO and ZOOT (those days beginning in 1990) and while we've appeared in DEADLINE and various anthologies together, this was the first time we ever worked together. I hope we can collaborate again, it was a ton of fun and I loved writing for him. Roger and I both like old-school comedy stuff and Bill and Ted have this comedy team thing going for them, so it was, in my opinion, a most excellent match. We both hope to work on something again someday, if the opportunity ever comes up. We're both cartoonists who kind of run against the tide of the Direct market, almost always scrambling but always around.
Look how clean and sharp and sweet those lines are! The folds and inking on Death are just too good. Roger does most of his comics and illustration work digitally, so tis is extra special to have. Also, I haven't added a piece of art to my collection in years, so this brightened up a bummer of a week, let me tell you.

The Fred the Clown page -- 14 panels, detailed and textured beautifully and all drawn on a small piece of paper, to boot. Around 9" x 12", or thereabouts, iirc.
