Rough WIP

Next thing I'm pushing around. Juggling in with commissions and layouts for a thing, and trying to come up with an idea for another thing.

Been dealing with multiple contracts recently. None of it is for new material, but it means I'll have some stuff out next year to push. I hope to be able to tell folks about these projects soon. One of them is a licensed item that's pretty interesting. Fingers crossed everything works out as planned.

Also, it looks like there's a possibility that H&H Toys might do another drop of the little Milk & Cheese resin figures. I'll see if I can confirm that. I am only telling you folks, so, like this cover sketch, keep it under your hat, kids.

More soon, later!

I appreciate hearing that...I'm really torn about Kayfabe, to be honest. I have had a lot of good times hanging out with Ed and Jim over the years, and they've interviewed me on earlier podcasts. But there are things about Kayfabe I'm just not a fan of and I have been vocal about it a few times here and there on social media in the past. To ostensibly be on the side of creators and all that entails, and then lionize schmucks like Liefeld and McFarlane who have fucked people over -- to the point of lawsuits levied by other creators in McFarlane's case -- is kind of insane to me. And that Uncle Todd talk or however it goes (I'm going on memory) is just sycophantic and nauseating. They're not kids, and early Image and Wizard Magazine were a stain on the industry for a number of reasons. And I say that as someone who had Wizard staff (many of whom I liked personally, and I felt were genuine fans of the medium, unlike their boss) on my side, hiring me and Sarah several times and gaining us a number of readers. I'm also shaking my head remembering that Maus cover "parody" they did for Ed's series, which was so fucking ill-conceived and pointed out a lot of my problems with the Pittsburgh boys (entrenched in format, style and homage without a maturing consideration to actual content). I think maybe those guys and I are kind of aware it would be best not to have me on or it might be a real "shoot" (I kind of hate that term used outside of wrestling tbh, but it fits here), so, I'm thinking it's better if we pretend we're in different territories as far as that goes. For all I know, they've never even considered having me on. I never made it onto the Wizard Top 10 list back in the day. Probably wouldn't have made the Top 100. Anyway, whatever. I don't wish anyone ill, it's just the way I feel about it. And I tend to overthink things and get hopped up. Even in my mellowing AARP days.

Missed out on the resin figures the previous times they were available, here's hoping I'm able to get them this go around!

Evan, I’ve seen a lot of love for you in the Cartoonist Kayfabe group on Facebook, including several posts by people who would like to see them interview you. Some people wonder if you’d be interested. Would you?
