Previously unseen panel of Ace from The Presence of Others, part 2, painted in watercolors by series co-creator Jill Thompson. This is all I remember seeing from the abandoned/aborted issue, I never saw the rest of the page.
The second part of the story was eventually painted by Benjamin Dewey, directly after coming off of Wise Dogs and Eldritch Men. It's collected in Beasts of Burden: Neighborhood Watch, which may have recently gone out of print.
I have no idea if Dark Horse plans a paperback edition to replace the hardcover. Sales have, uh, slowed down a bit on the series. DHC and I still planning on continuing, once my schedule stops getting hammered.
The first Beasts of Burden story, "Stray", was published in October, 2003 in The Dark Horse Book of Hauntings. Holy hell.
