Tomorrow morning I have an EMG appointment to check out if the electrical activity in the muscles in my arm and hand are screwy. Or, rather, why they might be screwy, because they are screwy for sure. If I hold up my arm for ten or fifteen seconds my fingers start to tingle and go numb. Can't hold pencils or pens for long, a lot of muscle spasming and some shakiness. Swear I ain't been drinking anything but water, officer.
Hopefully after the test the doctors can figure out what's going on. As many of you know, I've been dealing with this for decades now, able to rest my hand and arm when things got too painful. I'm 58 and that doesn't work anymore, unfortunately. So, here's to hoping. I miss drawing, I'm stressed about work and how this is affecting life. Fingers crossed! Left hand only, ha ha.
One good thing is that I can start taking anti-inflammation medicine for my arm after the EMG. My doctor says they can affect the test, the neurologists said it's not really a big deal, but I'm paranoid and decided to only take the pills a few times when things got really bad. I think they helped --? Guess I'll see by next week.
Better posts soon. Take care.
