Covid Update 6/21/23

Hey, folks. Definitely getting better but still sick, still weak, coughing, sleeping most of the time. Sarah had mild symptos and has been taking precautions, so far the offspring has been free of trouble, thankgully.

Can't eat much, besides the taste issues I can't seem to keep much down. Drinking a lot of water, eating mostly saltine crackers and Jell-O. The good thing is I can read, the first week I was so dizzy I couldn't do much of anything but listen to old radio shows and horror dramas. I couldn't stay up long enough to listen to audiobooks.

t would be weird to fall in and out of sleep with Horror-Theater.com on, drifting through sections of an Inner Sanctum, then a Quiet, Please episode and then a chunk of Campfire Radio Theater. Chimera-like radio.

Winky is very bored and I feel terrible about not being able to keep her occupied. She has to stay with me as we isolate. I wore a mask for a while to make sure she's be okay. Cats don't normally get sick but there is a slight risk. She sleeps with me a lot and I have treats for her.

I can't draweven for doodles  between my hand and Covid, but I have taken (very scribbly)notes for scenes for the next Beasts of Burden. And I try to work on stuff in my head.

I hope to be up and about in the next week so I can at least catch up on mail and clean the studio up some (I'm isolated in here, it's like when I lived in a comic store, only messier, believe it or not) and start working on outstanding packages. One book and four art packages. I have prescriptions at my pharmacy for anti-inflammation (my arm), and vitamins, I guess stemming from my blood tests., this reminds me i have to call them. I don't know when I can take the pills because I have to got to the neurologist and the inlfmaatio medicine will throw off the tests. Balancing when I can do anything versus the arm pain, which is bad.

Moving through it. Matter of time. I just want to get back to work and catch up after losing all this time.

Thanks for your patience, regular posting will return asap. Thanks for your support while our household is dealing with things.

Thaks. Re SW, I'm a former Star Wars fan, I was hardcore for a long time (Saw the original in the theater 11 times, saw Return twice in the same day at two different theaters, collected the toys, tie-in books, comics...). But I burned out and went cold turkey around the time of the re-issues of the original trilogy. The commercialism and headache-inducing fan noise just killed it for me. I got sick of hearing about Star Wars. Sold/gave away the new release toys I was collecting, just opted out. Haven't seen any of the sequels/prequels. So, yeah. Maybe I'll listen to the radio plays someday out of my enjoyment of radio, but like Lord of the Rings, I just kind of left the fold (as far as tie-in media goes). I'm all burned out on a lot of my childhood favorites these days.

I was having cravings for all sorts of things, especially the days where I basically wasn't eating. I was feverish and just thinking about food I haven't had in years (I don't cook and my social anxiety keeps me from ordering food or going into places I'm not comfortable with, so, I eat a lot of stuff from boxes and cans, a lot of bread). I was really craving Italian and Japanese food. Sarah tossed my apple juice because I had drunk from the bottle and it was tainted. I like apple juice.

Speaking of radio plays, have you listened to the BBC Star Wars radio dramas? Pretty sure they're on youtube if you haven't. Hope you feel better soon, man!

Hope y’all feel better soon! Are you having any cravings, I was desperate for apple juice when I got it.
