Experiment #87

I spy an unearthly eye.

So. This was a double experiment. I have very little idea of what I'm doing with the GIMP program, and this drawing needed some fixes before I could post it. Simple things, like filling in some black areas that were spotty. But I didn't know what to do in order to export the image as a jpeg to post it here. Everything was madness, sheer madness. I didn't even know what the hell "exporting" was. Anyway, I went through a lot of tutorial pages to find the stuff because of not knowing what to call "changing the file thingie". Exporting. Exporting. Exporting.

It took, oh, about forty-five minutes to stumble into exporting things. I'm going to have to get some of this stuff hammered into my brain to some degree because by necessity I'm going to need to do more of this stuff on my own.

I think I saved ten versions of this thing and sent them flying un-exported and exported and deported and departed and maybe even imported all over my file folders. Phantoms of my incompetence, where they are now, even Leonard Nimoy wouldn't be In Search Of. Eesh. I couldn't figure out the tools decently so there are two airbrushy effects in there that I didn't want but they look okay and I had to get something done to show for the time spent. To quote Howard Cosell for no real reason, "I simply have to get done.  I have an 8 O'clock train at Penn Station!" So, I gave up and went with the fuzzy erasing and got it done to some degree. "Fuzzy erasing". I don't even know what I'm talking about! (now quoting Lou Costello for no real reason).

I probably should've looked up how to shrink the image to post it the actual size I draw it. I was just getting used to doing it a few times in Photoshop but not in GIMP. Or is it Gimp? Fuck me. The index card images get so blown up they show flaws you can't see at actual size.   I guess I should have been reducing them all along. I don't understand anything but paper and pencil and pen and half the time I don't even know what I'm doing with that. My head feels like it's filled with fuzzy erasing.

I am a ding-a-ling, a ding-dang Topper Toys ding-a-ling.

Anyway, here's to an inch of progress! I'm going to bed!

More soon later.
