Odd Old E-Mail (Creepy Human Drama Not Actually Involving Me)

My computer is currently having issues with opening text files so I am unable to post as planned tonight. But I can plumb the depths of my ancient e-mails to bring you this bit of weirdness from 2006. Enjoy --?

Dear Evan,

I'm a journalist/writer based in London and am currently writing a book
which is about an experience I had with a guy who uses the email address
milkncheese@aol.com (apparently inactive, otherwise I would have omitted it -e) and who is mad about your comics.

Basically I met this guy (real name redacted)  on Nerve back in March 2001 and
we corresponded via instant message, letter and phone  for six months
before finally meeting up in Barcelona in October 01.

It was quite a nuts thing to do as he lived in SF and I live in London but
the fact was that there were a number of really weird coincidences in our
lives right from the beginning which gave me reason to believe that this guy
was special.

It's a long and complicated story so I'll give it the Cliffs Notes
treatment.

Basically we met in Barcelona, things went wonderfully, we planned to meet
again at Xmas but then on my return  to London I  found out about some
seriously bizarre stuff he had done, including setting up a spoof online
diary in my name , illustrating it  with a picture he'd covertly taken of me
in Barcelona and filling it with all the personal details of my life he'd
gotten from my letters, our phone calls and from Hacking into my email -
fucked up does not begin to describe what he did - hence the book.

Reason I'm getting in touch with you is that I have good reason to believe
he's  done something like this before and I just wondered if perhaps some
other girl might have gotten in touch with you about it prior to me? It's
been a hard 15 months putting my case together and I'm covering all the
bases.
