Hey, folks. Sorry I've been away, didn't plan to take a break from the October Experiment posts, but the past week was a busy one between taxes, dental work, the Head Sounds Block party, a lot of errands and a family birthday. I slept through most of Sunday like I'd returned home from a four-day convention and not a one-day event.
On the plus side, the block party was fantastic in every regard, it was good to see my old friend Robbie Busch (co-owner of Head Sounds records, 1/5 Instant Piano, cartoonist and collaborator on several old comic book-type things). It was also nice to see folks like R. Sikoryak and Ellen Lindner, listen to The Harlem Gospel Travelers play live, as well as a number of DJs. I lost my voice like it was a four-day event, things were very loud.
Several folks traveled in from out of the borough to stop by the tables, a few came from out of the city, and one couple drove in from Connecticut (a state I cannot spell without help). And my sister and niece surprised me by showing up, that was really swell.
I was going to post a few photos from the event but am so wiped out that transferring them from my phone and dealing with that is beyond me. Maybe you saw the photos on my Instagram account, there's a few there. I never uploaded video before. I effed it up multiple times. But I managed to use the Google Maps thingamajiggie to get me to Fort Greene, Brooklyn without getting lost. Very exciting development in my life. I wish I was exaggerating.
If you couldn't stop by and for some reason have a hankering to hear me flap my gums and stay off topic no matter what it happens to be, I will be on the Draw Drink'n video podcast tomorrow night at 9 p.m. EST.
The podcast folks are at @drawdrinkn on various social media, and below is a link to their Youtube channel in case you want to participate live or watch sometime later. Or listen to it while inking or driving or trying to not succumb to those Village of the Damned kids at a crucial moment.

I don't know if I'm supposed to actually drink on this show, but I bought a six of Bass Ale just in case I'm up for it. Right now I still have a massive post-event headache, so, not sure how that will go. Maybe after the podcast, while I go over all the things I wished I'd said, and the things I wished I hadn't. .
Speaking of speaking, next week Paul Yellovich and I will be doing another Tear Them Apart videocast for those who are looking for something to do during this less-than-stellar Halloween season (the suckiest, and sadly, the scariest in my lifetime). We'll be going live on Youtube on October 27th at 8:15 p.m. EST.
As in previous installments, we'll be talking horror movies, as well as books and old kidhood experiences watching movies and whatever else comes up. And we'll be answering viewer questions. And I think I will be drinking for this one, because, fuck it, it's our own stupid party and we'll get crocked if we want to. You would drink too, if it happened to you.Join us if you will.
If you have been a listener of the Tear Them Apart podcast and have been wondering when there might be a new episode, Paul and I recorded a massive episode that he is currently editing together for Halloween. No, we did not talk about the Halloween franchise. We talked about the entire Friday The 13th franchise, as well as the 6-hour Crystal Lake Memories documentary about the movies, because this will be our 13th episode (cue applause, crowd walla, trumpets, fireworks. Or crickets). I think this sucker's coming in at 3-hours or so, which is interesting (to us, at least), because the twist is, neither Paul or I are fans of the Friday The 13th franchise.
