Today This Happened (Four Panel Comic)

Well, sort of. I mean, I jazzed it up a little. But it's sort of true. Kind of.

There was a great oral history on that starship clusterfuck awhile back on GQ. Everyone involved seems to hate it now too.

I never got around to doing those comics ("9 Schools" was the tentative title). 2000 was a busy year, World's Funnest and the Eltingville pilot were in play and by the time I was back to my own stuff the market had collapsed for the small press solo anthology comic. The idea was never viable, and still isn't, as far as the Direct market goes. The idea might be folded into the childhood memoir I'd like to work on, if I can find a way to do it that doesn't murder us financially. I'm thinking I might have to look into seeing if there'd be any interest from a traditional publisher. I can't finance it on my own, comics publishers pay lousy advances for GNs, it's too much work for a KS because of the number of pages and all. It's a back burner project for the time being, all I do is make notes and file them if an idea or memory hits me. I'm not betting on this one, but it's something I would like to do. The Soda Thief comic and parts of Dork 7 were kind of dry runs for the idea, I'd work it in that style, although with fewer panels per page for various pragmatic reasons.
