Sites Other Than Fimfiction
Added 2022-02-19 00:19:58 +0000 UTCI'd like to get your opinions (comments, votes, private messages, whatever) on my moving works to other sites.
The choices I am currently looking at is Royal Road for my SFW (or mostly SFW, they allow explicit scenes but it can't be the focus) pieces and FurAffinity for anything specifically porn/fetish focused.
Fimfic is, currently, dying. Over the last year the new stories per day has dropped from an average of 30+ to below 20, and there have been several days where it didn't even register above 10. This, combined with the site's willingness to serve racially vilifying content, has led me to look around.
Please, any suggestions would be welcome.

Cool, and thank you. I really enjoy these behind-the-curtain tidbits, even if I'm not taking advantage of them myself. Do you know why so much fiction seems to be hosted on Spacebattles, or is that more of a selection bias issue of the fiction that I read?

2022-02-19 19:39:34 +0000 UTCI remember glancing at them briefly, but the lack of API really turned me off. Royal Road, when I asked them about getting some API access, totally hooked me up with a key and a bunch of endpoints that lets my discord bot use their site. FA is less generous in this department, but I already had code organized and running that scrapes FA. That they feature locked the old version of their interface really helped with that.

2022-02-19 04:31:33 +0000 UTCAO3 is an odd one. They at least are very omnivorous (so aren't likely to crash and burn), but they do allow objectionable stuff. I already have an account there—and have published a few things on it—but I am not a fan of the site. It's kinda a neutral "eh, it's a place to put words".

2022-02-19 01:50:22 +0000 UTCI would prefer it if you don't remove anything from FIMFIC, but rather simply stop updating there. I don't want to see all discussion and comments about your existing work lost. Frankly, for all that it's dying, it does feel more like a community to me than the other options, and I'd rather not lose those memories of what was. That said, apparently it's time to open a FurAffinity account to go along with my RoyalRoads account. Have you considered Archive Of Our Own?
