Modular Asset Design (1350 New DD assets)

Heya Folks!

We're still working hard on Nimblehold, and one of the major updates that I want to include, and I've been testing up front, is modular designs that make it a lot easier to create variety in packs without having to redesign individual pieces.

MODULAR

The modular pack features Alchemy, Beds, Chairs, Administration, Table and Cupboard assets for Dungeondraft. For a total of 1350 assets to work with.

NIMBLEHOLD

Once we make the move to Nimblehold with these assets, what this basically boils down to is making sure you can recolor assets easily and have variants of each asset that you can assemble inside the software instead of having a predesigned version.

We actually would assemble them inside the tool and make it so you can randomise the designs with minimal effort, and recolor the pieces of the object fairly easily. Take a bed, for instance, there's a mattress, a blanket, a pillow and the wood of the bed. In the past, I often had to figure out how to optimise the design without creating a list of a dozen versions of it to pick from, or only have one color of wood or one color of pillow, etc. With more optimised modular designs, you can have the base version for easy use and color picking each part of it for specific use.

In Dungeondraft, it still requires some manual assembly, but in Nimblehold, it wouldn't. It's the basis of building larger assembled groups of objects in the long run as well (think houses). Having randomly generated pieces to test this concept is something we're working on in the near future, so I'll hopefully be able to showcase that in practice instead of just the modular pieces.
