Nimblehold 0.1.7 Win64 - Path Tool Test

Hey Folks!

We've been having some issues with the SSL certificates again. Needed to order a new key, which needs to be sent from the US over to Europe, so right now it's signed without one (didn't want to keep delaying a release). I will probably update in a couple of weeks once it's arrived, but for those of you who want to check out our new tool addition, you can download it here.

PATH TOOL version 0.2

So the path tool, in its current form, allows you to draw paths with a rules system added. When they cross a cliff, they turn into stairs, and when they connect two cliffs, they create a bridge.

It is a straightforward tool to use —one that follows your mouse —but there are some downsides in its current version that I might want to step over to a point-and-click tool instead.

  1. Having a tool that follows the shapes you draw either forces us to add lots of points to follow the curves as closely as possible, or to add fewer points so it's easier to adapt afterwards. With the point-and-click version (similar to Dungeondraft or Manor Lords), you determine the exact shape by manually placing it.

  2. With the current version, you can't choose the length of bridges or stairs; it is predetermined. This can be very useful for quick maps, but it allows less user freedom to play around with it. I'm thinking that with a point-and-click version, you can make these as long as you want and place them with more precision.

The PATH TOOL will still evolve, of course. In its current state, it doesn't have any effect on the terrain that it crosses, but later versions will :

The next release will probably be a bit faster than our current one. Once we have the physical SSL key, we should be able to sign new versions without any hassle.

If you have any feedback to help us improve the tools, I'd love it right here in the comments so I can send it along to the rest of the team.
