A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1938) - Full Watch Along

The last of the Christmas classics for this year… My very first “Christmas Carol”, so I started with the 1938 original. I’ve since heard that the 1951 version is apparently the most loved and “definitive” one, but we’ll have to save that for next year! Hope you still enjoy this one. I did!!! Reaction highlights to be released on Friday December 26th. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!!! 🖤🎄

A CHRISTMAS CAROL (1938) - Full Watch Along

I know this is really late, but I wanted you to know how extremely thrilled I was to watch this my favorite Christmas movie and you did my late wife’s favorite two Christmas movies too, Miracle on 34th Street and It’s a Wonderful life!! These meant so very much to me especially at Christmas this year!! And lost my wife in January 2025 and 4days before last Christmas my house and almost everything I owned was destroyed in an electrical house fire! I’m sitting in a hotel room alone for Christmas and then I found your reactions to our 3 favorite Christmas movies and I loved all of them as I truly love you and Cash and all your fun and incredible reactions!! I think you are amazing and I notice how you recognize everyone and truly impressed when you recognized Powers Booth and all the other cast members in Tombstone!! Please never stop!! I love you! Thank you for everything ♥️🌹

Merry Christmas Coby and Cash! I'm new to the channel and enjoyed this reaction a lot. I get the less than stellar reactions to this version - it ranks somewhere in the middle for me. It has its moments: Fred is jovial and animated, and Fan/Fran is bubbly and warm. But it does have its problems. For a poor family, Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit don't look the part. Also, Reginald Owen as Scrooge is a bit too gruff for my taste. I prefer the more subtle style of Alistair Sim, in the 1951 version (my favorite). The Lockharts were husband and wife and two of their children are in the movie. One of them, June, was the mother on the Timmy and Lassie show, and was the mother of the space family Robinson on the 60's sci-fi series, Lost in Space. She recently passed away at the young age of 100. Looking forward to next year's 1951 version reaction!

Coby Merry Christmas and Yes Scrooge McDuck is named after Ebenezer Scooge. Bah Humbug, means nonsense with Scrooges extra grumpiness. hahaha, I enjoyed seeing this one again, I like the 1951 version best, I think. The Muppet Christmas Carol is also great hahaha
