If you watch '2010: The Year We Make Contact' (the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey') he plays Dr, Chandra, the creator of HAL. He is also in another sci-fi/horror film, 'Altered States', directed by Ken Russell and starring William Hurt in his film debut.
