12 MONKEYS - Recap

Something new! Going to start doing little video recaps of certain reactions. I guess specifically when I miss something vital... haha 🖤

Comments

I had no idea that that was the scientist beside him in the plane. Thanks so much for this.

Brett Walker

Appreciate the recap ! I totally missed the implications of the science lady too . I remember being slightly mystified why she looked the same age , when I saw it the first time . I was so caught up and distracted by the events of the ending my brain didn’t catch it . Makes her line about working in insurance funny and relevant . Now I feel like an idiot . Hah . The recaps are a great idea ! All the best CC! Give Cash a scratch .

That was awesome. Definitely more recaps. We could listen to you talk about movies all night. Don’t feel bad about missing the science lady. Everybody misses it at first. Even someone who is as observant as James probably wouldn’t even notice that until the 3rd or 4th time watching it. Definitely watch it again. It’ll still be confusing as hell, just not confusing as ALL hell, like it was the first time. I’ve seen it 20-30 times and I still can’t tell if it’s real or if James is crazy. There are so many parallels between the future and the present. Leaves you with such a weird feeling, like being pissed at someone but also really happy for them at the same time. Yeah, more recaps. We enjoy hearing your perspective.

I personally request Brazil! But The Fisher King will tide me over until then. Also Living in Oblivion. I think with your background in movie production you'll really like it... https://youtu.be/EQgqgY5MHac

Thanks for the little video response and for watching the film. I didn't think It was egregious that you didn't think the scientist was there for the sample, but that's what I assume she was doing there. I imagine they gave him the gun figuring he would get himself killed solving the problem of him wanting to remain in the past. At least they can remember him as a hero in the future now, I guess, though it was still sad. Brazil, this, and Zero Theorem are his dystopian movies, though 12 Monkeys otherwise is not that similar to the other 2. I think it was his most commercially successful movie.

Nick Christensen

I totally thought the same, so I’m glad you bought this to light. BTW, I love, love, love that Ramones shirt!
