Hangin' Out with RiffTrax: Hallmark Movie Pitch Meeting!

Hi there, Traxians!

The Christmastime season is known for many things: giving gifts and placing them under a freshly cut tree; drinking nog of egg (spiked if you like); singing songs from the public domain to anyone within earshot... but, most importantly, and the best Yuletide tradition that we can think of: watching cheesy cornball Hallmark movies!

And with our mug being filled this year with new, must-watch B-movies like Hot Frosty, The Merry Gentlemen, and Red One, the wriffers of RiffTrax thought it would be appropriate to pitch their own Hallmark-style movies to one another.

This Hangin' Out went live last week to just our Super and Ultra Traxians, and we present to everyone the full video recording.

Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!

When I think of Gregory Harrison, and admittedly it's not often, I think of his domination of Battle of the Network Stars. I really wonder if CBS kept Trapper John MD on the air mostly so he could counter Scott Baio's athleticism for ABC in the yearly event.

There was a discussion of "Why didn't Muppet Christmas Carol do well" in its release. And my answer (having seen it in theaters) is that it was a straight retelling of "Christmas Carol" and the trailer made it seem more comic than it was. (And it was the first post-Henson Muppet movie and the voices were still off...)
