Talkin' RiffTrax: The Demons of Ludlow

Hi there, Traxians!

A couple weeks ago we release a spookyish movie by the director-ish person known as Bill Rebane, The Demons of Ludlow. Did this stab at filmmaking succeed? Mike, Kevin, and Bill seem initially split on the results, but ultimately seemed to grow to really appreciate the auteur's vision oh who am I kidding, they did not like this one very much at all.

Enjoy this entry in Talkin' RiffTrax where they discuss Rebane's attempt in movie magic, if you can even really call it that.

You can also download the files for this video here.

P.S. We've got a backlog of videos so stay tuned for more!

How can you forget Calista’s insane dry humping scene in Absolute Force?! Ok, it was brief and I blacked out, so I get it.

On one hand I think I will miss Robert Easton, the apparently incredibly talented dialect coach who was also the avaricious farmer in "Giant Spider Invasion" and the head witch burner in "Touch of Satan". But I will not miss the super creepy guy from "Blood Harvest" - and I'm not talking about Tiny Tim. Though he was plenty creepy.

Suzi Eberhard

Apparently she was also in a non-pornographic film called "Sex & the Single Alien." Potentially riffable, in the bad reviews are right.

So apparently Mary Walden played Eleanor. IMDB told me that. Maybe I missed something, but I had to watch almost the entire movie to find out which character she was. Eleanor was the young woman who went into the barn with her boyfriend.

Also, I've started reading Mr. Murphy's book, A Year at the Movies. Everyday I read a week. Sometimes I'll read two weeks. I just finished Week 9 - A Kidney Stone of the Week. Poor Kevin. Prior to Kevin's book, I read Frank Conniff's book Twenty Five Mystery Science Theater 3000 Films That Changed My Life in No Way Whatsoever. I really enjoyed Frank's book and am enjoying Kevin's book. The differences in writing styles gave me mental whiplash.

Population 49, minus those that die. I enjoyed the movie. There is a special place in my brain for accepting films that look like they were made with little or no budget. I blame Rifftrax and MST3K for that. The same day I watched Ludlow, I watched San Franpsycho, Absolute Force, The House of Fear, and the randomly chosen A Crime of Passion. Of all of them, including The Demons of Ludlow, Absolute Force was the worse simply because by the end of the day, I could not remember anything about the movie except that Calista Carradine's character cares more about looking cool and bad ass than hitting her intended targets. I'm referring to when she held her arms out straight ahead, then crossed them while holding the guns sideways. That's the only thing I remember from that movie. The riffs for all five films were fun and silly.
