We discuss Mary Jo's main issue with these mega-blockbusters, how someone could possibly (spoiler alert) become a living Dreamstone, and why the heck doesn't Diana use one of those retractable leash thingies for her lasso to keep it from slipping from her grip???

2021-04-08 12:38:33 +0000 UTCI bought the dvd of Wonder Woman 1984 before I even heard the ladies were doing a commentary. Much like the Rifftrax guys, it didn't surprise me to hear Mary Jo admit to not getting this kind of movie. There are lots of flaws in this movie, not as many as in Snyder's DC movies, but lots of gaping plot holes, not least of which is the magical nonsense of a "wishing stone" but it helped explain how Steve Trevor could be back, at least for Diana. You have to accept lots of nonsense to enjoy these super-hero films, not unlike the nonsense you have to accept in most romantic films. Heck, most any kind of movie.

Although ... now I'm imagining an Alternate Universe version of MST3K where, instead of joining in, Mike would just tell the 'bots to ease up a bit.
