Hello Peru
Added 2023-12-02 19:13:13 +0000 UTCMy friends, I just returned from a month in Peru and it feels like a year. Europeans travel like that. They get twice the vacation time. The altitude here at Lake Titicaca is over 12,000 ft and I am on the edge. Back at sea level in Lima, I find a children's book store and the books are just the right level for my Spanish! Here's oneI love, Your Body is Yours.
It's In its 11th edition! We are learning all over the world to take care of ourselves and decide who touches us and how.
For you Patreons who may be learning Spanish like me, it translates to: "All girls and boys have a body and this book helps you understand more about it. I'm at Machupicchu in the clouds with a llama. I'm feeling better because it's only 8,000 ft above sea level. Soon I will send a photo of me wrapped (or unwrapped!) in a baby alpaca blanket, but I haven't quite recovered yet.
Coming home I noticed an upscale airport, more space between people, cars all in a straight line within the street's marked lanes...and no honking! Waiting for my Uber, cars stopped thinking I may need to cross the street. I love my home. I spoke Spanish with my Uber driver who was from Mexico. He said I speak Spanish very well! We both love living here.
