Charla sings, jokes, and pontificates about the joys of sex work in this short teaser of her one-woman show.

I'm loving Australia—“No worries, Mate, just scoot me an email and pop right over, we’ll knock one out.” I’m performing Naked at My Age this week at Sydney’s queer-run theater, The Red Rattler, and looking at my play script with new ‘gender-conscious’ eyes. I’m learning to use pronouns, ‘they, them’ with my queer Aussie, non-binary friends, and feel blessed to learn language that’s more inclusive.

I met some Aussie men at my neighbourhood Greek cafe, and complemented them on their colourful shirts, “Oh, we’re European,” they explained. Look at these Colourful Men from The Huxsleys Bloodlines exhibit, a tribute to the bravado of gay men lost to AIDS.

Meet my friend and brilliant colleague, Dr Susan Kaye, who was told by her family “women don’t go to college.” After graduating Villanova, she worked with the great sex researchers, Masters and Johnson, and later developed her own triadic model of sex surrogacy. Her years of intimacy teaching is now a book, Am I Normal If? I love you, Susan!

Sex Work is decriminalized in Australia!!! And guess what, it's led to a decrease in trafficking statistics! Decriminalizing SW is a step towards ridding the oldest profession of shame, violence, and inequality. I hope, with my play, I can help destigmatize and normalise sex work.
Cheers my Dear Patreons from Down Under--I am being served breakfast on the boat after sailing on the Tasman Sea with a lovely Tasmanian man I met on Tinder!
