Only Gene follows an established religion out of all four, but the others have some of their own beliefs Gene grew up in a religiously positive environment. He really doesn't go by the bible and his family wasn't intense about attending church every sunday. Rather, they promoted certain values of Christianity like love thy neighbor and forgiveness. In his mind, God is very abstract and is more of a reminder to act with good intentions. Ace is a hardcore atheist. He was raised Christian but it was used for shaming and fear tactics in his household, making God an incredibly scary concept to him. He stopped believing completely mid-highschool, but he still carries some of the religious shame and guilt. Jobie's home wasn't particularly religious. They claimed to be, but did not practice any religion within their home and rarely spoke about it unless they were putting down other families. Jobie holds beliefs that are self made and are frequently changing, such as himself being the most important person, therefore a God cannot exist. Rory grew up in a mormon family who were high up in the church due to wealth, but were lightly involved. He thinks organized religion is a sham, and that discovering spirituality should be more individual. If he were to learn about Buddhism, he would think it's very "groovy"

Thank you! This means so much to me and I'm glad you've enjoyed what I make :) Rowdy has always been drawn to darker things. During childhood horror was a place of comfort for him, and this developed into adulthood with his interest towards the Kaspers. (Specifically Sam.) Unlike most horror fans, he chooses not to recognize that pining for real killers is immoral and insensitive. Meeting Arlo was purely "luck" for Rowdy, and he didn't seek him out in any way. They just happened to go to the same University. Due to his obsession with Sam, he immediately became tunnel visioned into having Arlo as a partner. I wish I had more about them, but a majority of their time spent together is outlined in the short story I wrote in Arlo's POV!

So sorry this took so long to reply to! thank you for your patience Poly boys have very differing pain tolerances Gene has a high pain tolerance, but a low tolerance for blood or gore. He can take a beating but he'd have to look away while you're patching him up. Most of the time though, he's just handling a headache. Rory has a high pain tolerance, but it's likely because he spends most of his time high! Ace has a medium pain tolerance, but he sees himself as having low pain tolerance. Because of this, he'll actually avoid voicing when he's hurting. Jobie has a low pain tolerance, but he sees himself as having a very high pain tolerance. Because of this, he thinks everyone should know whenever he's in pain! Cole has a fairly decent pain tolerance. If not for the ways he was disciplined growing up, he would've had a lower one. Jareth has extremely low tolerance for pain, and will avoid harm at all costs. Luckily, he is very rarely hurt. Nigel has high pain tolerance! Which is probably why he can handle walking in heels for up to eight hours Vinnie has medium pain tolerance, but will be very quiet about harm. William has very high pain tolerance both physically and emotionally! Infact, when I originally created him I had a very strong idea for him not to be fearful of deathly situations. Cornelius has a medium pain tolerance Sam has a low pain tolerance Rowdy has a high pain tolerance Arlo has medium pain tolerance

Interestingly they wouldn't really use any! Cole would mainly just call Nigel "Nigel" and that's all. Maybe on a rare occasio where Nigel wanted to try something, but it wouldn't stick. It's usually just Nigel doing the pet names to Cole Those type of feminine names would be more aligned with William and Cornelius :)

Ace had the most difficult time accepting his identity. He struggles with identity and feeling "whole", so his sexuality felt overwhelming to him. From his tweens to later teenage years, Ace knew that he wasn't heterosexual but he was constantly second guessing and invalidating himself. He only became stable with being gay a long after his relationship with Gene steadied. Gene grew up in a family that really didn't talk about queer people other than passing comments from his mom. However, he also learned about Christianity only from inside his home and not at a church. From Gene's perspective, God made him to be bisexual and knew he'd probably be romantic with a man or two in his lifetime. So it doesn't stress him out!

The Poly boys are a four-person relationship living together in Idaho, while the Gublenn boys are a music business in London. Although both take place in the 70s, they do not intersect with the exception of a few things 1) Jobie's older sister is Cole's wife, Laurey 2) When Jareth runs away to America, he briefly meets Gene's father, Ramsey 3) Ace and Jobie are fans of Jareth, but they never meet him

Depends on the day! He clicks with both of them for different reasons. One day he could be attached to Gene at the hip, then the next he'd prefer Ace. Of course, there's a playful part of him that would feel neglected for a while. Once the grief has worn down, they'd all adjust to being a trio just fine. (They knew Rory was leaving for a while, just didn't know when)

Unfortunately, Cole hasn't allowed himself the space or freedom to have a special interest for many many years. You could say his special interest is his work, but that wouldn't be true. He's ferociously stubborn about having no hobbies for a long time In Cole's later years, after he is no longer managing Jareth, I could see him getting deeply invested in something like Victorian history, train types and models, or celebrity culture

Rory still leaves, yes. I think it's something that wouldn't surprise the boys after months of distancing behaviors and a lack of connection. However, they'd have a lack of closure with him suddenly just never showing up again, and never getting a decent explanation as to why Jobie would be the most effected by it, and the most confused. Both him and Ace would share anger and frustration towards how he left, and that he "abandoned" the group for selfish reasons Gene would be stoic about it. I think he grieved earlier than the others did, and saw a bit sooner that Rory was no longer romantically interested or entertained. He would've already had a few short talks with him regarding substance use, what hes not allowed to have in the house, and that he needs to tell them where he goes when he just leaves for days

Yes, especially in the winter Without using the right products his hair will still be in curls, but they won't be as uniform. They start to frizz and become extremely difficult for him to manage sensory wise. When his happens, his hair gets staticy on his sweaters and starts sticking to him! So he just has to maintain a routine. Sleeping with a silk pillow helps as well

The biggest change to canon has been that Ace lives! I made the original lore when I was only 17, and have grown to be very tired of it. I think the boys deserve to have a good ending, especially considering that queer people rarely get that in media. I'm brain storming ways to creatively explain and compile the lore!

Actually, neither of them did college. They had enough money together to move out a year after highschool. (Oh how I envy the 70s economy) Gene and Ace both having their own jobs was more than enough to provide, since their living situation was unconventional to the usual nuclear family which usually has one breadwinner. Jobie will have the finish his senior year of highschool, definitely. I think I'd have him finish it while doing summer classes. He wouldn't want to finish schooling himself due to his negative experience with it, and would be pushed by Ace to get his diploma

Cole is the worst at impressions. The WORST, and that includes accents. He can't mimic other people for the life of him and has embarrassed himself trying Jobie would be good at parroting people, especially the boys which can sometimes hurt feelings. (Except Gene, his voice is a little too low for Jobie). Rory would only be good at impersonating famous people but the best at impressions would be Arlo. The boys' interests would be so different, especially in music taste and fashion! Jobie and Rory would be youtube rats. They'd end up watching a lot of Markiplier, Jackspeticeye, Pewdiepie, and GameGrumps. They'd definitely have their own channel that they play Minecraft on with a humble following. Surprisingly, they would really enjoy Icarly with Ace Ace would be a Florence and the Machine boy, as well as a "pop" lover since pop music was at an all time high. Think Lady gaga, Beyonce, One Direction, and Katy Perry. He wouldn't be into youtubers except for graveyard girl and Simply nailogical (He would be a BIG potter head, but it would be a secret passion) Gene would still not be involved in a lot of pop culture, and his tastes would be a bit old fashioned or "out of the loop" So all of his interests would be more 90s related. Hi there, this Q&A post is always open for questions :) Gene gets the most headaches out of everyone, around 2-5 a week depending. However, if anyone were to get migraines it would be Ace. He doesn't get them nearly as often, usually only for big storms, but he always knows it's coming because he gets a "migraine aura" which blurs a section of his vision

Lucky for you, my canon is actively changing! The original story was made when I was only seventeen, and I now disagree with a lot of the story. Because Ace lives, Jobie's mental health doesn't decline so severely and he doesn't return to the Copperfell hospital. I wish I could tell you more, but that's all I know for him at the moment! As for Rory, he still leaves the group in the new canon due to boredom. He struggles to stay entertained in one place I fear, and decides to move on with another group after a few months of drifting away

There have been changes :) William grew up in a VERY religious family following Mormonism. He was a middle child to around ten siblings, and managed to fly under the radar as often as possible. Some children growing up in a religion experience the "adult Santa" effect, where they pretend to believe but actually have no true beliefs. This was Williams case, and when he turned 18 he persued college specifically to flee his family.

Gene wouldn't eat them often, and would prefer only the chocolate since the cream is too sweet for him, and his teeth are sensitive to sweets. Jobie only eats the cream in the center and will leave the chocolate in the box (which irks Ace from time to time, but is a nice treat for Gene) Rory dips them in milks and lets them get completely soaked. (he also does this with saltines and water) Ace eats them "Like a normal person"

They could only recognize his "way of loving" in adulthood Ace would struggle a lot as a parent. He would be the worrier for the group, and the most aware of allergies, appointments, and medication. Without Ace they would have absolutely no schedule, so although he would be an insecure father he is absolutely needed. Although he wouldnt be as favored in childhood, he would be favored during teens which is an age he would be able to understand far better. He would give great and honest advice, and never play "devils advocate" for his kid. However, as parents all together they would compliment each other's positives and work on the negatives. I could see a child growing up stable with them. Plus, imagine how nice the tuck ins must have been!

This is a great question Gene's LEAST favorite are spiders! He is phobic towards them and has been since childhood. I've actually had an "evil twins" AU idea for a little while. Kind of how in kids cartoons the main characters have evil doppelgangers that are always trying to foil the lead's plans. Gene's facial expressions and body language would all be the exact same, but he would have absolutely no warmth. He would be disloyal, hypersexual, and controlling. He would Oddly, I imagine him to be blonde but I'm scared he'll look like Rocky from Rocky Horror Picture Show Ace would be a complete mean girl, but in a sneaky sort of way. Very shy and kind when face to face, but horridly judgmental and snide when with the others. He would be passive aggressive, deceitful, and very vain. Rory would still be social, but to an uncomfortable degree. He puts himself into situations he wasn't welcomed into and makes the assumption that everyone loves his company. He steals the conversation, peer pressures, and has no awareness for boundaries. I'm not sure for Jobie yet, I can't decide if i want him to be a complete narcissist or incredibly conniving! However, I think this is different from the AU you’re talking about so I’ll also answer for that! Gene would be the social one! He’d be incredibly chatty, easy to make laugh, yet would lack the tenderness he has as his original self. He’d struggle with indoor activities like cooking, reading, and chores. He’s much prefer leisurely activities that require very little work. He’d wear loose fitting clothing, or pajamas. He wouldn’t have dyed his hair, and would have grown it out. Ace would be confident, and bold at times. He wouldn’t struggle to assert opinions and he would be impulsive to getting tattoos, piercings, and hair changes. His hair would be cut short and likely dyed in some way since he’d have the confidence to do it on himself. Rory would be reserved and unsocial. He would struggle to make conversation and be very conservative with his fashion. No nipple piercings either! He would have grown up following his family’s wealth rather than revolting it, so I can see him being a bit of a snob! His hair would be cut shorter Jobie would be shy! Nervous and frequently second guessing himself. He would be very silent about his struggles with psychosis episodes and would often wish to be placed on the outside of the group rather than within. He’d have very very long hair with a few strips still dyed

Typically, Nigel will wear men's slacks and a collared shirt if he's not in a suit. However, he rarely has any days off so he doesn't often dress down.
