Our Theme for August: Out of the Abyss

Many moons ago OotA was one of the first campaigns I ever ran as a fresh faced DM, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into this one.
What I need from you guys are suggestions of maps that we can create to match this theme.
I already have one map in production, A Drow Outpost, but would love to hear your suggestions too.
Quick Note: We wont be able to recreate official maps from OotA, as much as we might want to, but we can create map inspired by the setting or fill gaps.

I do like this idea. Very mines of Moria we could do a multiple level dungeon. Maybe an old Dwarven mine that tunneled somewhere it shouldn't....

2021-08-03 19:50:06 +0000 UTCI got to thinking that you can really play with elevation within a cavern. Perhaps a bottomless chasm or pit with ledges and bridges leading up and down. Would probably have to be a multilevel map. This could very well be a settlement as well with some nasty flying underground abominations living in caverns all along the walls.
