Behind The Spotlight Chapter 12

The deal ended in just one meeting. Collin and Wyatt didn't expect this kind of situation at all. They thought the investor would ask for more benefits.

Collin was even ready to convince William, he was ready to lie. He knew that it was hard for them to find an investment so he had to use all of the means to convince William.

Yet the young guy easily agreed. He didn't even ask for further deals. As if William didn't take it seriously.

When Collin and Wyatt left the building to find a place to talk, the two were speechless and shocked by what transpired.

When they found a place to talk, which was in the park, Wyatt broke the silence by yelling: "Fuck yeah!"

Collin also smiled.

Both of them have been under pressure since yesterday when they set up a schedule to meet the investor. They formulated so many scenarios in their heads. And now, the hardest part ended smoothly.

Wyatt and Colin laughed loudly that the passersby avoided them.

"Phew, I thought I'm going to lose my shit," Wyatt said.

Collin didn't mind the curse word. He nodded and agreed.

"Collin, I didn't know that you have connections with the CEO of ANT."

"Nah, it's not that deep. I'm just a normal agent in the company."

Wyatt didn't believe him. He thought Collin was just being humble. What he witnessed earlier confirmed that he signed a contract with a worthy agent.

A few months ago, when he applied to ANT, Wyatt didn't have confidence that the agency would take him seriously. At first, he thought Collin was just a rookie agent because he only had three years of working experience.

His impression of Collin started changing when the agent pulled out a stunt and made him become Director Esteban's assistant director.

And now, Wyatt believed that Collin was the rising rookie of the company after he witnessed how Collin signed a $300 thousand business contract in just a few days after their plan of making a movie.

Now that his agent proved himself, Wyatt felt like it was his moment to show his capabilities.

"I thought we would have a hard time finding an investor, we plan to start the project after a month. But now that we have the budget, I think I'll resign from my position as an assistant director."

Wyatt thought about it seriously.

"You don't have to worry about the breach of contract, I'll talk to Henry and Director Esteban."

To be fair, resigning from your job was not a breach of contract. But Wyatt's case was a bit special. There was a clause in his contract that he should finish the project before leaving the production crew.

Director Esteban needed an assistant director.

If there was a good thing, Director Esteban's project was expected to be finished in three to four weeks. Wyatt's resignation won't affect the production that much.

However, his resignation midway before the completion of a movie project would be part of his working history. It might be hard for him to work in another production crew again.

This decision signified that Wyatt had no way out if the movie failed. He was setting his mind: If he failed, he would never have a chance to work in another production crew again.

This kind of risk was sort of a way to increase his motivation. He had no intention of failing. The day Wyatt talked to Collin about making a comedy movie, he started renting comedy movies that performed well at the box office.

While the two were having conversations, Collin suddenly recalled William's surname.

"William Edward... If I remember correctly, the owner of Database Giant has the surname of Edward."

Database Giant was a company that managed database management systems, which became the foundation of storing and managing large volumes of data in businesses and organizations worldwide.

Database Giant's expertise was Database Management Systems, Enterprise Software, Cloud Computing, and Java Development.

This company was worth billions of dollars, and it was owned by Ellison Edward. The Edward family was trying to expand its business from technology to other industries.

"Maybe they are related," Wyatt replied.

"I guess that explains why $300 thousand is nothing to William."
