Hollywood What If Chapter 157

The promotion for John Wick kept going until the premiere night arrived.

"... She's still not answering."

Kazir muttered. He tried to call Reese but no one responded.

'Reese is out of town because she is filming Napoleon Dynamite III. On top of that, she signed an endorsement for a shampoo product. She is really busy. Still...'

Kazir wanted to explain it to Reese but the woman was keeping her silence. Even the reporters could not get any information about her.

Kazir sighed and dropped the phone. He was going to meet Cameron Diaz for the premiere tonight. He was already in his tuxedo, ready for the big day.

A few minutes later, they reached Cameron's place. The woman came out of the house and entered the limousine.

"Good evening Cam, you're as beautiful as always."

Kazir greeted her. After signing the contract, the two became much closer. Although both of them understood that this was nothing but business. Perhaps they were enjoying their show. Because they were really intimate.

"Aww, I miss you baby~"

Cameron leaned closer and kissed him. They shared a passionate kiss that last for dozens of seconds.

As for Erica, who was holding the steering wheel, she kept her expression stoic. She saw nothing as she drove the limousine out of the Beverley Hills.

"It's amazing that you're assistant can drive a limousine."

Cameron was quite impressed.

"Erica even knows how to fly a helicopter." Kazir shrugged.

"Really. You're not joking, right?"

"Don't worry Miss Cameron, I even know how to fly a jet."

Erica answered. She was proud of her accomplishments.

"Wow! Erica, just call me Cam. I insist."

"Yes, Cam."

Cameron Diaz smiled and rest her head on Kazir's shoulder.

"So when are we going to live together?"

"Hm, not written in the contract."

"Geez, you bad guy."

She pinched his shoulder and Kazir chuckled. Cameron actually tried to add in the contract that the two should live together but Kazir denied it.

Actors are professional liars. It was amazing that Kazir could keep up with Cameron's acting.

"Anyway, when are you going to buy a house in Beverly Hills? You are richer than me, I believe you can afford a nice house."

"Most of the money will be invested in our next projects. I don't know if I will buy a house this year."

"Pfft-- You expect me to believe that? Kazir, your annual salary as a director is at least five times bigger than mine. You're bank account is definitely packing."

Kazir just smiled and didn't answer. It was private information and he kept his mouth shut.

Kazir Grey intended to buy a house once the market hit rock bottom. The right moment to buy a house would be around 2000. Because the dot-com bubble would burst that year and many industries would be affected. One of them was the Real Estate industry.

House could wait, especially when he lives in his office anyway. It was already a fact that his office was his house. Even the workers of Grey Pictures felt awkward because their boss was literally living in the company 24/7.

The month of September was a bleak season for Hollywood. The Big Six usually put their weak movies in this month. So John Wick didn't have a strong rival, except for one.

'I heard that Rush Hour would be released next week.'

Starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, a movie distributed by New Line Cinema. Rush Hour was the winner of September 1998.

Even Kazir was not confident that he could face Rush Hour. Because to be honest, his movie didn't have any selling point except the action stunts... But the thing was, Rush Hour had great action stunts as well.

Even its connection to Taken was not heavily emphasized. Perhaps the only selling point was Kazir's.

So his relationship with Cameron Diaz was the main method of promotion. Paramount didn't care much about the movie, and the resources they gave were not great either. They only care about Director Kazir Grey, not John Wick.

Viggo Mortensen and the cast showed up one by one. Reporters took pictures of them obviously. The cast did their best to act normal and pose in front of the flashing cameras.

The interviews would happen and the important cast would get asked some questions related to the movie.

Usually, the interviewer would ask 'How's working with Director Grey?',  'What do you think about the movie?', and 'What is your role in the movie?'

Nothing fancy and controversial. After all, reporters from Viacom overpowered this premier. Unless Viacom was interested to make things spicy.

Just like that, Kazir Grey and Cameron Diaz arrived on the red carpet. They kept their smiles and they were so close to each other as if they were deeply in love.

"Director Grey! Please look at the camera!"

"Miss Cameron, please hug Director Grey!"

The reporters requested a bunch of poses. Cameron was in good so she did her best.

"We met again, Director Grey!"

"Yeah, I remember you. You're Abella Boham. You're the interview last time."

"Indeed." The woman happily nodded. She was the reporter who interviewed Kazir when Taken was released. Of course, she was working from CBS.

"Director Grey, how does it feel to be the best rising Director of this era?"

"Um, I feel good. Although I believe that I'm not the best. I think Quentin Tarantino and my friend David Fincher are the best rising directors of the 90s."

"I see that Miss Cameron Diaz is with you. Care to explain your relationship with her?"

This time, Cameron was the one who answered.

"Hi, I'm Cameron Diaz. I'm his girlfriend." She said and hugged his arm.

"Looks like you two are doing well. You guys are so sweet. Anyway, what about your relationship with Reese Witherspoon?"

Kazir glanced at the reporter.

'I fucking knew it.'

Perhaps Paramount was trying to spice up this night. Or perhaps the female reporter asked this question on her own intention.

Still, Kazir was put in the spotlight.

"Reese and I are in a good relationship."

He smiled for the last time before going into the theater. He didn't let the female reporter ask him another question that might bring trouble.

The answer was not satisfying but who cares, Kazir Grey was going to be busy this month. He didn't have time to think about useless stuff.

Holding Cameron's hand, Kazir was composed as always.
