he didn't ask the first time, but im pretty sure albus had a number of drinks magicked up before the duel Partner had with the bounty in episode 6 (still cackling about the fact that guy's name was Glennjamin). he was actually affected by the alcohol and unable to use his powers for a while because of it which doesn't happen with normal booze as a demon

Albus didn't ask for the drink, while Doc deliberately asked for an example of power. For that matter, Hipswitch not being turned into a tin can from Jess Prodman's EMP or Partner and Hipswitch being able to navigate the minefield are all either choices Partner made because of Hipswitch or for his benefit. Albus is a lot of things, but he doesn't deserve the guilt they're laying on him.
