Update: Finally some answers

Howdy all,

 I hope you're doing well and had some time over the holiday and new year to enjoy yourselves.

This is mostly an update to my current medical status regarding the ongoing issue I've been dealing with as I don't want you guys to be kept in the dark about it.
Recently I had a series of investigative MRIs that revealed, after contrast, a series of large tumors at the base of my right C8 and T1 nerve roots.
These growths explain the slowly worsening symptoms I've had over the last few years and also why I was fairly certain that the issue wasn't as simple as cubital tunnel impingement.
I spoke with my neurosurgeon this morning regarding the strategy going forward.
Given the nature of the growths, the severity of the pain, and that I do not fit the physiology of a patient that has chronic schwannoma (nerve sheath tumors) he has concerns that the growths may be dangerous. Regardless they will need to be biopsied and then depending on the nature of the tumors, surgically dealt with. Resources are stretched thin in this state regarding expertise with this issue as it is an exceptionally rare case, and will require a team of specialists regardless of which outcome the biopsy reveals. However he seems fairly certain that given that my strength has not declined much and that I've had this in my body for at least 5 years now, that it is most likely a benign growth.

I'm not distressed by this news. It's been a really grueling and demoralizing year, losing the two things that I cherish most in life outside of my friends and family, weightlifting and drawing, to this ailment. And to finally know why all of that bullshit is happening, is a small comfort.

As it stands, I'm working with a pain specialist to try and find the right cocktail of muscle relaxants, nerve suppressors and anti-inflammatories that will let me get a couple hours of work done a day. If I can at least get that one small thing back for a while, it will help immensely.
