Notice about Patreon payment issues

September's here and August's work will be rolling in soon.
I'll be streaming the exclusive today for Halibut patrons and the YCH will kick off tomorrow afternoon.
Voting for September's theme and YCH will be up shortly along with the roadmap for this month so please sit tight while I get my butt back into gear.
Last month Patreon had some issues with payments due to them transferring part of their process to the UK to try and circumvent fees and restrictions. This caused a bunch of cards to decline and subsequently patrons to lose access to their rewards. Unfortunately, the problem is not yet fully resolved and you may again have issues this month.
I have seen several declined payments and will go ahead and send out a notification on the 4th to any declined payments.
If you're are having any trouble, here’s what you can do:
- If your bank suspects that the Patreon payment is fraudulent, you can call up your bank to confirm the payment is yours and genuine.
- If your payment failed, you can follow these steps or switch to a different payment method.
- If you are seeing an international processing fee, you can switch your pledge to a different bank that doesn’t charge for international payments.
- You can reach out to the Patreon support team to get account specific help.
Here’s what Patreon is doing:
- We’ll reach out via email to any patron who receives a “declined” payment with info on what they can do and how.
- We will continue Patreon’s proactive practice of retrying payments throughout the month.
