"How exactly does this procedure work?" he asked.

"I do not want to bother you with technical details, but in general terms I'll inject a substance in your skin that will gradually minimize the effect of collagen on your body. When you stop the treatment, everything will be as before again."

"I see... When would it be possible to start this? 

"If that's okay to you, we can make the first application right now."

"Fine, doctor" Patrick said, avoiding thinking too much about that. "Let's do that."  

Dr. Reid then took a syringe with a big needle and asked Patrick to lie down. Then, he applied the substance in several points of Patrick’s face, including his forehead, under his eyes, cheeks, around his mouth, near to his nose, and his chin.
