Hello, dear Godot Engine Patreons!
It's been a long time since we last posted here! As you may already know, we recently released Godot 4! It's been a massive undertaking by thousands of contributors, and we can't wait to see what you can create with it :)
We've been a bit quiet on this platform, ...

Hi guys, I wanted to let you know that we finally have saved enough money and are reaching enough monthly funding to do new project hires. We can't say the names of those that will hopefully begin their involvement in the coming months yet, but I can tell the areas that they will be working on. Both are long time project contributors who are making their life choice of working for the project thanks to your generous support.
One of them will be fully working dedicated to improving the e...

The project situation changed a lot for the better in the past few months, with a steady growth in the amount of users and contributors, and a nice boost to our funding situation thanks to an Epic MegaGrant which will cover my (Juan) and George's work for the next two years, freeing donation funds for new purposes. Therefore, we discussed with core cont...

This is a follow up to the previous post about reorganizing how our fund flow happens. As many know, we got an Epic Megagrant two months ago which basically has been used so both I (Juan) and George Marques can work full time paid by it (the Megagrant was specifically requested and granted for working on rendering and scripting, can't be used for anything else).
Rémi remains hired by the donations, and we also raised his wage a bit, because he lives in Denmark, where cost of livi...

Hi guys, I am writing this to sort out how we are going to use the money after we have received an Epic Megagrant.
When we applied to Epic, we asked to use the money on two fronts:
1. Rendering, to have someone dedicated to rendering for two years, either me or someone else.
2. Scripting, to have someone dedicated to fix GDScript and GDNative for two years.
The application was several months ago, actually before we hired George, and the grant was only approved a ...

As I have been on vacation, and as Rémi has been extremely busy preparing the 3.2 releases (which is the first major one he does on his own, and doing a more than fine job at it), the voting for the previous months have been kind of a mess.
So, besides having a catch-up voting in January, we were looking at redesigning the rewards. We understand that far most of our patrons don' t really care much about them and only want to support the project, but we are still very grateful with all...

Hi everyone! Rémi writing :)
In the previous post about September poll results, I wrote:
October proposals poll coming up tomorrow.
That was 11 days ago... Whoops. I haven't been idle in the meantime though, as a lot of work was done to get 3.2 release ready. Stay tuned for 3.2 beta 3 and 3.1.2 stable in coming days :)
Anyway, here's the form for everyone to make ...

Hi everyone! It's Rémi writing for once (previous posts about the Patreon votes/results were from Juan). Juan is finally taking a much deserved holiday (actually his honeymoon!) so I'm filling in for him with the number crunching.
In coming weeks I'll also review all past votes and write a summary of what has been voted upon, what has been implemented/done, and what's left to do (ideally with some indications of where we fit each item in the roadmap).
We also started discussing w...

Thanks hugely to everyone who is supporting us and helping the project reach its third goal!
We need to make sure who our next hire will be (it is not certain Pedro will be available due to timing, so this needs to be confirmed with him), but if it's not him, other of our very skilled contributors would also be glad to work full time for the project. As soon as we have more information we will announce it as soon as possible. We also have to ensure this new target remains stable, as by ...

We will start doing some changes to the proposal system in the coming months, most likely for the roadmap priority, instead of just copying/pasting something from our roadmap, we will request a link to a proposal on:
