The Phistomefel Puzzle Hunt

In Nori Nori can dominoes overlap? Because I'm at an impasse where either way I place some shaded cells they are gonna create an overlap at a 90 degree angle to be specific.

Late to the party here, but in the "raging river" puzzle, what does ? * really mean? If the question mark can be zero, why would it not just be a star and nothing more?

Excellent puzzles, thank you Phistomefel. Elegant logic throughout as one would expect. Until the last puzzle I would also have said that they were not horrendously difficult, but the last one really nullified most of my neurons and I had to find a hint, which I don't like doing.

For Nori Nori, may the digits in the cage repeat? It doesn’t explicitly say that in the rules

After 2,5 hours and shading all but three cages I broke the puzzle and have no idea how far I have to go back to fix it. I am afraid I have to start all over. But that will have to wait until after christmas.

Alexander: orthogonally connected. Both me and Brett found unintended example solutions, so just go straight for the main puzzle

When it says the ocean has to be connected, does this mean orthogonally or is diagonally sufficient? Also, how do you solve the example? I also found a solution that wasn´t the intended one.

I would say once you get the break in, the puzzle really starts to hum. After shading most of the top 3 rows and making a couple deductions I shaded in like half the puzzle in a minute because the logic flows really super nicely

The nori nori really got under my skin! Have lots of work deadlines, but I keep coming back to the puzzles in any break I have 🙈

Thanks! The main puzzle worked out well. A bit unfortunate to have example puzzles that are harder (impossible) to solve than the main ones. It would also be easy to add a few hints to the example to make it unique. Still a great puzzle pack though :)

Given that I've found a duplicate solution to the example puzzle in Nori if I don't assume standard cage rules I will assume standard cage rules apply

I have received confirmation that the first sentence of the rules should indeed state "Normal KILLER sudoku rules apply."

I noticed that with the example puzzle as well, but in the main puzzle the given rules appear to be sufficient.

Is there a requirement that the island in the archipelago puzzle do not contain 2*2 island squares? It only says that there are no 2*2 _shaded_ regions. Image of solved _example_ puzzle (= no spoilers) with 2*2 island squares https://imgur.com/a/hos2aSy (or is there another rule I've missed?)

They are in increasing order of difficulty, more or less. I've been through the first 5 and they definitely exhibit a gentle uptick in fiendishness!

For Nori Nori Nighthawk it does not explicitly say that cages may not contain repeats. May cages contain repeated digits in Nori Nori Nighthawk? Also a tiny mishap causes the puzzle "The Raging Stream" to be titled "The Raging Storm" in the CtC app. I hope these minor issues do not inhibit anyone's enjoyment. I for one am loving the puzzles so far!

Thanks, excited to get started! Any suggestions on difficulty levels for these puzzles? Or should we assume they're just all very hard, given all the long Phistomefel video's we saw on the channel?

Wonderful! However, after competing the first puzzle I only get a story fragment, not a solution word as the instructions state I should - am I missing something?
