2024-05-10 09:30:00 +0000 UTCThe restaurant where this episode was filmed is a real place in Chicago called "Ever" - you can see the restaurant's logo on the chef's jacket of the chef who yelled at Garrett. The real place has never actually been ranked as the world's best restaurant AFAIK, but it does currently have two Michelin stars, so it's definitely a high-end destination spot. Right now, there are only two restaurants in Chicago with three stars - Alinea and Smyth - and only three spots with two stars - Oriole, Moody Tongue, and Ever. In the entire United States, there are only 13 three star restaurants, and only 32 two star places, so this place definitely ranks among the country's most highly regarded restaurants. The edible skulls seen at the 13:42 mark are a signature item featured at the actual restaurant. Needless to say, it's not cheap to eat there - the 8-10 course tasting menu is $325 per person, and that doesn't include alcohol. The older couple who were teachers who got a comped meal probably planned on dropping close to $800 on dinner that night.
