Okay. I actually feel like I've done a lot. I haven't posted much??? But holy hell I've been busy. Let's see if that's real or just my imagination.

No, I don't know for sure until I've finished writing these. Cool sense of time like that. Here we go!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 Hello and welcome to "Sera tells you about her silly little pet project."

Ya girl been organizing artists as part of the new leadership over at Bunallow to make a nifty little collection of holiday-themed acrylic standees. I made one! She comes in naked and not naked versions and like five different sizes, so you can get what fits on your desk best. I hope you like her!

I've also just been generally busy as shit cleaning up the mess over there and helping maintain and update the store since we opened. Better the store does, more I get paid. I also get paid when my own merch sells, so, you know. Cute reindeer lady! Your shelf??? She has a whip!

GAME DEV

Boring shit, but shit all the same! I've done a lot of work on save files and the management thereof. This has resulted in very little of visual substance, but hey here you go:

So at present this successfully loads up any existing save files and lists them off as individual buttons that SHOULD be grouped so you can only have one active at a time?? It's a work in progress. It's barely tested. But so far it does what I've told it to.

This has also come with a significant overhaul of the save system, including implementation of version-proofing so opening up an outdated save file doesn't crash the whole app. It also accounts for different modes and metrics much better overall. It also saves your settings and applies them when the game launches, and the options menu reflects that state and everything.

My next step is the creation of new profiles. Once that's set, I'll have everything in place that I need to have to start actually make a real intro sequence and title screen.

Like I said, all pretty boring. A lot of backend stuff that doesn't really effect the gameplay or have any flashy videos or sprites to go with it. But, all necessary steps I've really been putting off.

Though also, I have figured out nine-slicing and a functional dialougue box that I plan to use for the tutorials, so that's also a thing.

 Text typewriter effects in, pauses for punctuation, has speed settings, all that good shit. The big empty space is for a character portrait. Really set up for anything I might want to do with it! And again, it's nine-sliced, so the box can be resized to one's heart's content for basically whatever purpose. I could fill the whole screen with this mess. I could write you an essay. Kinda like you're reading now, but with a silly chitter-chatter noise every time a letter appears.

Oh, you know I added a chitter-chatter noise.

I haven't done shit here this time and if I don't fix the gaping hole in The Contest's script soon I think some of you will be justified in kicking my ass. I should probably get on that. Sorry.

AND THAT ABOUT DOES IT

So, y'all been playing ATLYSS? That seems to be the new flavor going around. It's not bad! I have a lot of thoughts about how it could be better, but it's a fun time regardless. Also, its gamepad support is ass, which I'd complain about more if my gamepad hadn't just bit the big one. Bummer, dude! Apparently I wore right through the rubber backing that sits between the X button and the motherboard contact, so it just jammed into place, and when I took it apart to look at it the damn thing just dissolved. Very cool! Wish I could find replacement parts anywhere but fuck it. Controller's less than thirty bucks and I suspect it'd cost similar to get the bits I need. That seems to be how any attempt to save money works these days.

Oh, I also made Thanksgiving dinner. Big fukkin turkey!! Still eating it all, but there's not much left. Delicious bird. Ever had cold turkey and ranch? like just dip that white meat in ranch. It rules, I promise. Especially if the ranch is good. Not that dogshit bottled stuff. Get a seasoning packet and make it yourself with a decent mayo and zero buttermilk. Buttermilk seems really good at ruining ranch. God, the turkey. So good.
