Bi-Weekly Report #12

Wait. Shit. Already?? Uh. Okay!!

Here we go! (And I definitely haven't lost track of time at all the last couple weeks!! Ha ha!! Ha!!)

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Solemn JPEG rerun for anyone not wanting to scroll for context before I update on this:

Things have picked up a bit. Not enough to cover everything, but by and large we're doing a lot better than I'd worried we would. Rent is still gonna be a nightmare unless I can pull in more income in the next couple weeks, but most of the major bills were covered, and we're not missing our meals or anything, so it could be a lot worse.

Thank you to everyone once again for the added and continuing support. It has genuinely been helping tremendously. I'll keep plugging away over here to make it worth y'all's whiles.

GAMEDEV

I have finished the set bonus popper, implemented its sequence, added some more sound work to give it some added pizzazz, and squashed multiple bugs that reared their root causes vulnerable in the process. (I think I've finally killed the fall bug. The fall bug has been a problem for months. This delights me.)

Anyway, it looks pretty nice imo.

I've also started work on the green slime lady's proper sprite, so look forward to that soon hopefully.

COMMISSIONS

Pew! Pew pew pew!!

Completed:

In Progress:

Upcoming:

Did better than I thought, looking back. Have a couple standing inquiries. Still a lot to do! But I gotta do it!!

I've started experimenting with Pay What You Want commissions. Basically, you throw whatever amount of money at me you think is appropriate alongside an OC or two and I give you a surprise result based on that price. The minimum is $15 a character, if anyone wants to hit me up on that; I did the first one up there as a warm-up and that made my whole night roll out smoother, so it seems pretty win-win.

WRITING

I have begun posting Thralls over on Scribblehub as well as Wattpad, and both are now up to Chapter 3. Hopefully I'll have 4 ready before the end of the night; there's more revision work involved than I anticipated. It's as if looking at something for the first time in a year or so results in having some advanced understanding of what makes something horrid to read or some shit.

I've also been prodding chapter 13 with a stick while working on the next flashback sequence to advance the Nidrah storyline. Need to keep certain events and themes in sync or the back and forth gets pretty damned random, honestly. I have introduced an elf man. I am juggling three languages again. I have no idea if people will think that's a fun detail or just find it annoying as hell. Let's find out together, because chapter 4 is basically where that nonsense started!

ANIMATION

The one-sitting goal for Vinyl has super not panned out, but she is coming along bit by bit. Not exactly priority number one at the moment compared to comms and the like, but moving all the same. I'm hoping my next session with her wraps that mess up.

AND THAT ABOUT DOES IT

Finished Blacktail. Like, super finished Blacktail. 100% plus easter egg ending. Absolutely loved BlackTail. Could not think until I finished BlackTail. It was pretty dire lol.

So I started looking for lighter fare and wound up finally touching Breath of Death VII, which has been in my Steam library about as long as I've had a Steam library. It's alright. Definitely Zeboyd's first thing. Grindy and a bit mean, honestly, but fine.

I then found out that the Sonic Triple Trouble 16-bit fan remake had been finished for going on two damned years, so I dropped that other shit and swallowed that whole because something something Autistic Special Interest. It's lovely. Pretty polished overall, great soundtrack improvements, feels good, brings back Tails' floppy-shoed Genesis sprite that I adore. Little man is just out there doing his best. Even has some cool concepts like swapping between Sonic and Tails at will that add some fun wrinkles to things that I think are pretty neat! Very cool project, strong recommend.

Tomorrow I finally address these like ten bags of cans I need to recycle. We're a bottle deposit state so that oughta help. Just been anxious about handling it solo, for whatever reason.

Back to it!
