[Preview] Upcoming 0.9.9 Features

Update 0.9.9, which releases this weekend, has awesome optimizations, changes, bugfixes and more in store! The Randomizer is now fully FPS and workload independent, ensuring consistency at all times without additional workaround code.

Before this update, it was possible that certain animations such as time and player value changes would look (faster/slower) slightly different depending on how many FPS you got, and where you would be in the game (e.g. in Shrines there is a smaller workload). You no longer have to worry about that and consistency is now ensured at all times! This took a long time to make right and I am quite proud about this change.

Next, I would like to talk about the changes made. Zonai Devices and Vows are no longer disabled by default in Shrines for even more variation and randomness when they get disabled via Randomizer Cycle prohibitions. The chance in Goal Mode has been increased for goal categories to be picked that you don't have yet for more goal category variety - this should also make it so that you are less tempted to reroll goals at the start! Additionally, the time it takes to reroll goals in Goal Mode has been slightly reduced/optimized.

When changing player values, such as hearts and stamina, they will no longer go below their normal minimums by default. However, a miscellaneous option has been added that allows going down below said values! When the time changes, there is now a Zonai message "The world time has changed", so people are no longer getting confused what the black fading does.

You might have noticed that both Gloom Hands and Phantom Ganons can spawn randomly. The direct Phantom Ganon did not drop items beforehand, but now he does - it's worth to fight him for some awesome loot now! Speaking of loot, the Phantom Ganon spawned by Gloom Hands and Bubbulfrogs drop slightly more items now. What is pretty cool is that breakable rock piles and walls now drop random items (includes the Luminous and Zonaite versions) as well!

When throwing away the Randomizer Staff, it will now be added back to the inventory without the paused weapon get dialogue and it will no longer be put onto the ground to avoid duplicates when picking them up. Also, the "Randomizer - Status" quest no longer updates when loading a save file and when going into a Shrine because there is no reason for it.

Now, let's get to the bugfixes. A bug has been fixed where chests would sometimes spawn in the ground when dropped and a bug has been fixed that made it so that the environment was changing and reverting way more often than intended. A bug has been fixed that was present for over a year - fixed multiple softlock bugs that could occur while summoning a Vow while doing its respective Temple questline. Quite happy about that one!

Lastly, fixed a bug where the player would not get any ability when talking to the two Maker Constructs on the Great Sky Island before beating a second Shrine while already having the Energy Cell. And fixed a bug where the player would complete their second Shrine, afterwards talk to one of the two Maker Constructs while not having the Energy Cell yet and therefore ending up with more abilities than possible at the end at Recall, resulting in a crash.
