8 months of liquid gold and my lil chunk is thriving 🤩
I always knew I wanted to breastfeed- the superior benefits to mama & baby are undeniable.
We have luckily had a very natural & seamless breastfeeding journey. And I’m super grateful for it, as I know it’s not the case for everyone.
But I also believe if mamas had a better support system, more encouragement & proper education around the benefits - there would be a lot more breastfed babies!!
I also support that every woman should chose to feed their baby in whatever way works for their family, without guilt ❤️ but only after being fully informed and given adequate support if needed. (Not pushed into formula out of fear 🙄)
I’ve personally chosen to exclusively breastfeed. I feed on demand. I don’t worry about a schedule. I just tune into my baby and I know what he needs. Whether he’s hungry or just needs connection- it’s up to him how much/often he wants to nurse.
Yes, it’s demanding but this is what i believe is best for us and these moments are so special 🥹 he won’t need me in this way forever, and I’m soaking it all in.
I share this in case other mamas feel this pull to do things differently. To cut out the noise and do what YOU feel is right. It seems we’ve lost touch with our own intuition and are looking towards books, schedules, “experts” and what everyone else says we should do- instead of trying to understand how our babies are communicating with us.
And this is coming from someone who was very type-a, schedule oriented pre-baby 🤪
I hope we can get back to trusting ourselves and our little ones. And I hope that any mama who wants to breastfeed can get the support she needs to make it happen 🥰 don’t give up— it’s sooo worth it ❤️
