Y'all may recall having seen her before, as she portrayed Mona Lisa Vito, the stylish, sharp-witted fiancΓ©e of Vincent LaGuardia Gambini (Joe Pesci) in the 1992 movie ππΊ ππ°πΆπ΄πͺπ― ππͺπ―π―πΊ. As an expert mechanic and hairdresser, her unexpected yet crucial/critical/vital/pivotal testimony, which illustrated her vast automotive knowledge, assisted in Vinny "winning" the trial for his clients: two "yutes" (youths) who were wrongfully accused, including his young cousin. Tomei's tremendous, terrific and incredibly iconic performance earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the aforementioned film. Similarly, Mickey Rourke's work in ππ©π¦ ππ³π¦π΄π΅ππ¦π³ got him nominated for an Academy Award in the category of Best Actor, albeit he didn't wind up winnin' said Oscar.
