Monster Sound Design
Working on a creepy monster segment from one of our videos and came up with this. It's a blend of a synth drone, static noise and a couple effected 'monster' sfx.

I finally got myself a second monitor to assist with reading scripts while I edit (portrait orientation). It's helped my workflow so much! Do you have anything like this that helps you work more effectively?

Well okay, this is just the animatic—but it's coming soon!
Big props to Michaela (BeautySnake) and Robin Appelqvist for the animation and music, respectively! This is turning out so beautifully!
I love where this one took us. What do you think of personification? Do you also see it as a form of projection?

What do pirates, vampires, and legendary Norse gods have in common? More than you'd think! Though they all have iconic, vastly different appearances and reputations, outside their epic stories, they're just... people, living mundane lives and putting on mascara one eye at a time. Just like us. This upcoming video is all about that: the people underneath, and how giving your characters moments of awkwardness and non-plot can make them feel so much more empathetic.
While researching this...
I really do enjoy creating some atmosphere and telling a story via the audio. What could be happening in this sequence I wonder?

I was really itching to illustrate on this one. What do you think he's giving the taleoid?

Still taking guesses! What could it beeeee?

Here's a short clip of me editing one of the narration files for an upcoming video! The video has been sped up 5x and you can see examples of me removing clicks/pops/breaths and cleaning up any undesirable takes.
For anyone curious, I love using Sound Forge Pro as my rough editing tool before I bring the audio into Pro Tools for final processing and mixing/mastering.

Hello, maintenance crew! Sylvan here with another glimpse at the research that goes into these videos. This week, I want to talk about something I read that didn't make it into the video. I loved this finding so much, I wanted to share it here!
Let me introduce you to Pleo the dinosaur:

Hey everyone! I Was animating one of our upcoming videos and thought I would share a few bits of this scene that I thought was interesting/worth sharing! I go over how I animate characters and how our virtual camera works. Let me know what you think! And if you want to see more things like this please comment below or ping me on the Discord @Cuenin the Puppeteer!

Big thanks to Abbie for helping this place to feel more like Tale Foundry! I'm in love with these.

This is where I get to have a lot of fun with sound design and creating the sound effects to compliment the amazing animation in each video! I often use the technique of subtractive EQ to help the sfx sit nicely under the narration.

Here is a small slice of the art process! I typically draw in Procreate first, sketching out an initial roughed storyboard (you can see me drawing over the top of the sketch), and later on, the final images. I make sure the heads, bodies, and arms of taleoids and occasionally, Talebot, are separate layers so that Alex can animate them. After this stage, I save the procreate files as .psd and transfer them to Photoshop for final adjustments.

Hey, Patreon maintenance crew! Sylvan here, with a little peek into the video research process. This week, we're getting ready to release a video about the book Raybearer, by Jordan Ifueko, so I wanted to share a bit of the cool worldbuilding in Raybearer.
This book is chock full of interesting worldbuilding, starting with the setting itself. Here's a map:
It looks like this...
Hey everyone! I thought I would share one of the funny moments that is always a part of audio production :) Benji is going to be so mad that i'm sharing this!!
