Krypto the Super Dog and Ace the Bat Hound!
.
Update: (Warning, this is going to get sad, so maybe stop reading if you aren't in a good headspace or whatever.) So, this post was originally scheduled to go up yesterday. I decided to delay it, though, because on Monday morning our dog Buster passed away. I guess we'd had him for about 10 years, but it somehow feels like it's been much longer and, tragically, much less. Understand, if you don't know me or my family very well, we are very, very much dog people. Plus, even though we all obviously love all of our dogs, we each have gravitated to and formed a more special connection with certain ones. Mom loves all of the dogs, but Max is her baby boy. Dad loves all of the dogs, but Ginger is his little girl. And I love all of the dogs, but Buster... Buster kept me safe during thunderstorms. Buster let me give him back scratches for as long as my arms could stand it. Buster knew where the treats were and he'd show me the way when I, for some inexplicable reason, wasn't giving them to him right now. Overall, he was just ... my buddy. When we first brought him home, we'd joke that he was going to think "Buddy" was his name, because that's what everyone tended to call him, because that's just what he was. He was everyone's buddy. And we are going to miss him so, so much.
I love you, buddy.
