This is a great feel-good movie for me. I remember watching it several times back in the mid to late 90's when I was a teen. It's well written, well acted, has great comedy, and has a great twist at the end. Just a nice, classic movie.

Man, this is the first I'd heard that George Foreman died. That's so sad. He was a funny man. He made me laugh. But Ali, Frazier, and others said nobody hit harder than George Foreman. I was always on his side.
The Indian Chief is Graham Greene. I know an old Indian elder in Wenatchee, Washington and he knows Graham Greene. Says he's a great guy.
He's a great actor. I love him in this movie. But if you ever get around to watching the series LONGMIRE (you really really should check it out), he plays a bad bad evil man. He played it well because I hated that character! You really see Longmire, it was a #1 show for a long time.
If you didn't recognize the commodore of the steamboat, he's James Coburn. He was in the original Magnificent Seven, and had several comedy spy movies in the 60s like My Man Flint, In Like Flint, etc. He was a great actor.
Lots of cameos on the steamboat, character actors, country singers, etc. Check out the IMDB page for the list of names.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110478/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_ov_ql_1
If you like James Garner, you should definitely check out Support Your Local Sheriff ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065051/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1 ) and Support Your Local Gunfighter ( https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067809/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1 ). They're hilarious!
James Garner had a TV series in the 50s and 60s called Maverick, so he's not foreign to the name and the genre.
This movie came out in 1994.
I've been watching Jodie Foster since she was on Kung Fu early in the 70s. She really has to act in romance scenes with men.
And if you want to see a really dramatic movie about poker, you should see Steve McQueen in The Cincinnati Kid. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059037/?ref_=fn_all_ttl_1
Great reaction! I really enjoyed this.

The scene with Danny Glover was an "Easter egg" from the Lethal Weapon movies thats why they were looking like they knew each other. Lethal Weapon is another Richard Donner movie. James Garner played Bret Maverick in a TV series back in the late 50s. The Native American (Graham Greene) played in Dances With Wolves. Also Shanghai Noon is a good one to check out with Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan.

This was a favourite movie of mine as a kid. I would talk about it with Old Drill often enough. I named my last car Brett Maverick because of this character in this movie. I thought he was cool- smooth and good. Will never forget Old Drill or you folks who brought him into Lee's life. Love this Fam!! Love this Community!! Thanks for the stellar reactions folks!! Nice to watch a movie with Friends!! 💜 💜💜💜

James Coburn (Joseph) is a very famous Indian actor who has played an Indian in many movies. Dances with Wolves is his most famous part also you saw him in The Green Mile. Maverick is one of my favorite movies as a kid. Seen it a bunch of times.

Asia or BJ, if you ever don't know the answer something that you can't look up during the movie, I will always try and answer the question if I know the answer in the comments. Asia asked what Hombre meant. It is simply Spanish for "man." Not to be confused with hambre which is obviously spelled differently, pronounced differently, and means "hunger." Hope that helps. ☺️

Maverick was a 1957 tv show that starred 2 men , Jack kelley and James garner. James garner is the older gentleman who was with Jodie and Mel. James garner went on to play tv p.i, jim Rockford in the Rockford files. Great selection 👌
