It's any wonder these poor kids, Michael Bl Jordan's character for instance. turn into emotionless killers when the grow up, with no father to teach them right from wrong, so then they go and get all the wrong messaging from the streets. It's horrible, and it seems to happen somewhere every day. Thank goodness this is a fictional drama. I don't know if I could handle it if this was a true crime show. These young kids who have nothing but potential and it's ripped away and they are turned into thugs as early as 12 and 13 years of age? It makes me really sad. Unfortunately this is the world we live in right now/ Damage has been done on both sides of the aisle and there is no simple solution...especially gun control. That doesn't fix anything. Finally, you have the kids out on the streets learnin' anything any strong male has to offer, but it seems to be a vicious cycle of violence. Sorry, I don't know what about that scene hit me as hard as it did. Good acting plus real world problems creates feelings of empathy and....maybe I should take a nap.

Omar's punk arse is ALL Alone at THIS Point in His Story.
The Other Guy That Was On The Steps With Omar and Brandon name was Bailey.
Bailey is The Person That McNulty Told Omar To Tell his Brother Anthony That Bailey "Got Lit Up" While Kima and McNulty Pulled Up on Brandon and Omar at the Cemetery Which Led To Omar initially Snitching on Bird Being The one who "Dropped A Working Man" which we know was William Gant.
Now That Bailey and now Brandon Are BOTH Dead As a Result ofTheir Participation in Robbing The Barksdale & Bell Organization, Hoe-Mar... I mean Omar is now out their by his punk arse self Right Now.
These Story Details Y'all Won't Get From Watching The First Couple Times.
It Takes Multiple Rewatches of This Show To Fully Enjoy Just How Much ALL THE PIECES MATTER Within The Details of The Storytelling Being Done.

Guys, I absolutely love these. This is one of your best show reactions yet. Loving every single minute of every episode. It's my second favourite show of all time (behind The Shield, nudge nudge wink wink) and you are definitely doing it justice.

Major Rawls is definitely a piece of shit but he's not on the take or anything. He's just motivated by his career and possibly political ambition. So for him, all that matters are his numbers. After he charges the murders he can say they're cleared from the open homicides column and He looks better on paper even if the strength of those cases is crap and he's blowing someone else's case up in the process. The show is highlighting systematic problems within the institution. The people who run the police department are appointed by politicians. In order to win elections, politicians have to reduce what are really complex problems down to bite sized statistics that voters can more easily digest and understand. By making your stats look good, you're making your bosses look good. This creates a messed up incentive structure where the more emphasis you place on making your stats look good, the better you do in your career even if you're not making one bit of actual difference in reducing crime. McNulty is not motivated by ambition but by making the cases stick and making a difference. And you can see how far he's going in his career...

I’ve never had Hamburger or Tuna Helper in my life, but I’ve definitely had my fair share of ramen! Btw, I know I’m a nitpick about this, but the actor who plays McNulty does a terrible American accent. It’s like he’s not even trying. I could tell he was English the first time he spoke!

So in reference to your microwave, popcorn and Ramen noodle conversation, I am going to do y’all a huge favor. Start scanning your food with the Bobby Approved app. you will be shocked at what we have been consuming all these years and it will help you avoid the issues that I’ve been having the past couple of years.

I highly suggest listening to the Jamele Hill and Van Lathan's The Wire Podcast after each episode. Their recaps are fun and very informational if confused on anything.
