June Poll Winner: 80's Mini-Monsters!

First, I just have to say once again, I'm really sorry this is so late. The June poll winner shouldn't be going up at the end of July, but Real Life has been super hectic lately. My day job has been one outrageous trial after another for several weeks now, and I haven't had as much time to work on my art as I'd like, and when I HAVE have time, I haven't always felt up to it physically, mentally, and/or emotionally. But I think things might be heading back towards some semblance of normal soon, or at least whatever passes as normal at my job. At the very least, I *should* be back to my normal hours this week. And the good new is that the July poll sketches are progressing on time and should be out by the end of the month.

As for this one, it turned out to be a lot more fun that I sort of expected. To be perfectly honest, I had my doubts about doing this one. Part of me... kinda didn't want to do it, to be frank, and I just couldn't get inspired for the longest time. Originally, I was just going to do a basic Kevin Maguire-style group shot to more or less get it done and move on. But then I got to talking to a friend of mine who's more into 80's horror than I am to make sure I wasn't missing any major characters, and our talk reminded me of my love of old VHS box art. I never got that into horror movies, but I used to love walking through the horror section of our Family Video as a kid just looking at the box art. It was all so bizarre and surreal and felt kinda subversive, like I was getting away with something naughty just by looking at it. That bit of inspiration gave me my hook, and from there everything began to fall into place. I went from having next to no enthusiasm to loving it! 

That being said, no more group suggestions, at least for a while. lol
