I think Judy and Peter did remember them. I know it doesn’t make sense but the way they looked at each other it was like “yep we remember you”

So, everything after they started playing the game in the beginning of the movie (original 1969 scene) was a butterfly effect of the game jumanji - when alan won and said jumanji, everything that was under the games effects (their lives after alan got sucked into the game originally) 'went away' as they said - back to where they started. They somehow remembered the lives they lived with alan stuck in the jungle, grew up AGAIN together with that life experience, remembering the kids, (who didnt remember them becuase the previous timeline was an effect of the game becuase it was in progress' - its not gonna make 100% sense becuase im like 'why would strangers lives be effected by 2-4 people playing jumaji? but its just somthing you gotta 'roll' with so to speak haha

This happened to me in Ecuador in the rainforest. I went to an open-air restaurant after cave-diving all morning and I was starving. I asked the waitress to bring me some plantain chips while they made my lunch. As soon as she sat them down on the table, a monkey grabbed them and went up into the rafters of the thatched roof. Then he proceeded to throw them at me one at a time. Monkeys are jerks…🤣

So, when they finished the game, they were able to go back to the beginning and live out their lives. They were able to remember Judy and Peter so years later when Alan took over Parish Shoes, he and Sarah sought out Judy and Peter's parents to work for them, thus saving them and bringing Judy and Peter back into their lives!

When I was a child we lived in Nigeria and I remember whenever we left the kitchen window open, monkeys would come and steal fruit from the fruit basket and then they would go up a tree by the house and mock us lol. They would take a bite from an apple and throw it at us and stuff like that. Cheeky monkeys.....

I’m so happy you watched this version instead of the remake. This one is far superior you can’t beat robin Williams. I’m not sure if you have already but if not you should watch Hook.

The 2nd installment is called Zathura. It's really good also. The game is space themed instead of the jungle.

Another thing i think may of happened is.. spoiler after this. don't read if ya aint seen the movie yet
having known the kids names they could have been on the lookout for their parents and he hired them after the parents had the kids to have them close so he could prevent the ski trip because he knew when they had died. He had to wait and not intervene else might have done something to change the timeline so the kids were never born.

Ya know, technically, if everything reverts to the way it was at the beginning, you could play this over and over if you're brave enough. If you have 4 people committed enough to finish the game no matter what, even if other players died along the way, as long as someone finishes, it'll all right itself. Sounds like an exciting weekend...OR, you roll one move when you're 15, then pay attention to stock prices or lotto numbers for a couple years, then have a crazy weekend, finish the game, then go buy some lotto tickets and stock options! Eh?! It could work...🤔

Good eye on seeing the actor who was alan's dad playing van pelt the hunter as well
Peter Pan had the same arrangement, where Mr. Darling, the children's father, and Captain Hook were played by the same actor

The little Vampire girl is Kirsten Dunst. She was also Mary Jane in Spider-Man. Also in real life she's married to the actor that played Todd on Breaking Bad. They were in a movie together that came out this year called "Civil War"

May have already been said, I can't see the newest comments without refreshing the movie but the hunter was actually played by the same actor as his father. Great symbolism

Another movie came out in 2007 that carries the same plotline: kids find a magical board game that brings out thematic obstacles and such and try to beat it and go home
This one is about outer space, called Zathura
It's more fun than this one IMO
