2023-11-21 22:40:47 +0000 UTCOh no! I just thought of something! in the beginning of the episode, 5 I guess, they showed that Tony's girlfriend is sick, and his wife is obviously sick. Now the priest finished the chalice...what if he comes down with the flu or something and then Tony gets the wrong idea?! Ah geez...wait, you guys watched this a long time ago, and frankly, my answers could come in the next episode...Anyway, that's just where my mind went when Asia mentioned that the wife was sick and then the priest finished the wine...It's weird talking into the past. Plus everyone on planet earth has probably seen this show but me at this point.

All fall short of the glory of God...that's why Jesus' sacrifice was so essential...Uh, guns! Grammar! Other stuff I usually talk about! 🤣

He didn't know it, but the rat was going to have him and Meadow killed as they left the college. The rat lied about why he didn't kill them the night before. There were witnesses and he would have blown his cover. He was making plans to get someone else to kill them.

2023-03-02 08:01:04 +0000 UTC2 more things-HBO was really worried when they saw the script for ep 5. Remember this was before Breaking Bad, Dexter, ect.. before the dsrk hero, or anti-hero. Execs were worried if the audience watched Tony murder someone with his bare hands they'd hate him & the show would tank. Ultimate showrunner David Chase and James Gandolfini convinced them that it was the only way-it wasnt believable that Tony would just let a rat go. BUT-they insisted that it be shown the rat was now a drug dealer-apparently in their eyes thst made it more permissable for Tony to kill him 😄 Secondly: the end of ep 6, when Tony and Carm are sitting out by the pool talking, is Edie Falcos (the actress who plays Carmela) favorite scene of hers in the whole show 🥰

2023-03-02 06:42:28 +0000 UTCHad to pause it to comment bc College has one of my fave moments in the whole series & i feel like the symbolism escapes most people, but BJ, you nailed it. Tony kills the rat, right? He's glad he found him, he's glad he won the game of cat & mouse and killed the guy before the guy killed him, hes glad & happy with himself, feeling satisfaction-the rat didnt get away with it! & then right on the heels of that feeling, the ducks fly by overhead-the ducks that symbolized his family and were a connection to his own humanity, and like you said, his soul. In that moment, its like the ducks are actually flying away with another piece of his soul, because he's just done an evil thing. You can feel it too as he stares up at them, suddenly going from satisfaction at the hit, to utter emptiness as another bit of his soul leaves him. Its an incredible moment & i love that you recognized it.
