Progress Report

3k words today!!!

It's not as good as last time, but it's nice nonetheless. I feel like this represents last week perfectly—with hiccups but, overall, a productive week.

First of all, I achieved my goal and more. I finished scene 2, and I'm more than halfway through the first version of scene 3!!! Just 9 notebook pages to go 🎉.

I'm writing so much that I don't even know if it's good; it's coming and going as a blur. I think it's great, and I wish I could upload it right now and read your reactions, but looking back, I can't remember individual sentences 😭 just the general mood of the scenes.

As for hiccups, there were a few. On Tuesday, I was on Word, writing peacefully, when, in a blink, my laptop screen was full of flickering lines. I tried to fix it myself, but it was obvious there was some kind of problem with the graphic card. I went to the place where I bought it, and they told me it would take 3 weeks to fix (╥_╥).

This laptop is a year old, doesn't leave the house, and I paid good money to make sure it was 'good', but this happens, smh.

The big problem is that my old computer is a mess. It took me so long to turn it on, and I was seriously afraid I wouldn't have anywhere to write. But after a lot of updates and loading screens, it's bearable now. I can work pretty well as long as I stay on Word and Grammarly!

I lost a day with this, and yesterday, I had to take Nero to the vet in an emergency. My sweet old boy has parrot beaks all along his spine, and his hips are nearly destroyed. He's had hip dysplasia for 7 years now, and even though we're doing physiotherapy, librela, and joint medication, it has deteriorated.

The vets were able to alleviate his pain, and he's so much better now, but he can't run anymore, which breaks my heart. So, as you can imagine, I didn't write much yesterday either. Right now, he needs rest. My vet is fantastic, and she's devised a whole new treatment plan for him, so I'm hopeful!!

But that's behind me, and I need to focus ahead. Nero is wagging his tail again, and I can write on the old PC. Next week, I want to finish the first version of scene 3 and be halfway done with the second version!!!!!!

I was close to weeping watching all the footage of Hurricane Helene and now Milton.  

Next week, I'll also start working on the Bonus Content for this month!! I'm so sorry for being radio silence. I've been making so much progress, but I don't want to spoil it, so I have little to say besides: I'm writing!!!
